Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Buying Tips

Why Buy Luxury Vinyl?

Also known as LVT or resilient flooring, it is an amazing material if you’re looking for something that is both a great value and long-lasting. It is softer underfoot than ceramic tile and wood, which makes it a great choice for kitchens where you’ll spend a lot of time standing. Resilient flooring has the ability to hold up under even the harshest conditions – it is resistant to dents, moisture damage, and heat, and some varieties offer built in soundproofing!

Though sometimes used in commercial applications, luxury vinyl is a great solution for residential applications as well. Breakthroughs in digital printing allow manufacturers to create the look of expensive stone, wood, and ceramic tile floors with stunning realism at a fraction of the cost of the real material.

Another huge benefit of using luxury vinyl is the easy maintenance. It is highly water and stain resistant. You will only have to sweep up dirt and debris periodically, and if you need a deeper clean, you just need to use a damp mop. Follow all manufacturer cleaning instructions.

Types of Luxury Vinyl

Luxury vinyl comes in two general types. One type resembles wood plank, appropriately called plank style (or LVP), and the other resembles large ceramic tiles, again, appropriately called tile style (or LVT). There are no differences in the installation or maintenance requirements of the two styles, so it is up to you and your preference. There are a great variety of looks that can be created with these two styles of luxury vinyl, so your choice will be determined by the design of your home.
